The Nar-Phu Valley to Tilicho Lake Trek is a remote and adventurous route in the Annapurna Region of Nepal, combining hidden Himalayan valleys with high-altitude landscapes. The trek begins from Koto, a village along the Annapurna Circuit, and enters the isolated Nar-Phu Valley, passing through narrow canyons, ancient monasteries, and traditional stone villages such as Nar and Phu. Trekkers experience Tibetan-influenced culture and authentic mountain lifestyles while exploring these quiet settlements.

The trail continues by crossing Kang La Pass, offering panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range, before joining the Annapurna Circuit near Manang. From Manang, trekkers proceed to Tilicho Base Camp and reach Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, surrounded by dramatic peaks and rugged alpine terrain. Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrival and Transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 : Preparation, shopping, exploring the city, and permit formalities.

    A full day in Kathmandu for final preparations, gear check, and permit arrangements.

  • Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Koto.

    A long scenic drive through Besisahar and along the Marsyangdi River to reach Koto, the gateway to Nar Phu Valley.

  • Day 4 : Trek from Koto to Meta.

    The trail enters the restricted Nar Phu Valley, passing through forests, narrow gorges, and remote landscapes.

  • Day 5 : Trek from Meta to Phu Village.

    A rugged trail leads to the ancient village of Phu, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and high mountains.

     

  • Day 6 : Acclimatization Day in Phu.

    Rest and explore the village, monasteries, and surrounding viewpoints.

  • Day 7 : Trek from Phu to Nar Phedi.

    A descent through remote terrain brings you to Nar Phedi, home to a peaceful monastery.

     

  • Day 8 : Trek from Nar Phedi to Nar Village.

    A steady climb leads to Nar Village, known for its traditional stone houses and cultural richness.

     

  • Day 9 : Acclimatization Day in Nar.

    A rest day to adjust to altitude with optional exploration of nearby ridges and viewpoints.

  • Day 10 : Cross Kang La Pass (5,320m) and trek to Ngawal (3,660m).

    A challenging day crossing the high pass, rewarded with spectacular views before descending to Ngawal.

  • Day 11 : Trek from Ngawal to Manang .

    A scenic walk reconnects with the Annapurna Circuit trail, leading to Manang.

  • Day 12 : Drive from Manang to Besisahar.

    A long but scenic drive back through mountain roads to Besisahar.

  • Day 13 : Drive to Kathmandu and farewell dinner.

    Return to Kathmandu and enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening.

  • Day 14 : Final departure.

    Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
