Langtang to Gosaikunda
Trip Overview
The trek connecting Langtang Valley to Gosaikunda is a scenic and adventurous route inside Langtang National Park. This journey combines breathtaking mountain scenery, rich cultural encounters, and spiritual landmarks. The trek usually begins around Kyanjin Gompa, where trekkers can enjoy spectacular views of surrounding Himalayan peaks and glaciers.
From the Langtang Valley, the trail descends through forests and traditional Tamang villages such as Thulo Syabru. The route then continues through rhododendron and pine forests to Sing Gompa, a peaceful settlement famous for its monastery and local yak cheese factory. As trekkers ascend further to Lauribina, they are rewarded with panoramic views of the Langtang Himalayas.
The journey ends at the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda, located at an altitude of about 4,380 meters. This holy site is highly respected by both Hindus and Buddhists and becomes a major pilgrimage destination during the Janai Purnima festival. The trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural exploration, and spiritual significance, making it one of the most memorable trekking experiences in Nepal.

Day 3 : Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m)The trail begins along the Langtang River, passing through dense forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron. Crossing suspension bridges and small settlements, you gradually ascend to Lama Hotel.

Day 4 : Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m)
The valley widens as you continue climbing, with views opening up to surrounding peaks. Passing yak pastures and traditional settlements, you reach Langtang Village, rich in Tamang culture.

Day 5 : Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m)
A short but scenic trek takes you deeper into the valley. Surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, you arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, known for its monastery and stunning alpine setting.

Day 6 : Acclimatization Day at Kyanjin Gompa
Spend the day exploring the area. Optional hikes to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri reward you with panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks, while aiding proper acclimatization.

Day 7 : Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,380m)
Descend along the same trail, enjoying a comfortable downhill walk through forests and familiar landscapes back to Lama Hotel.

Day 8 : Trek to Thulo Syabru (2,230m)
The route diverts from the Langtang Valley, climbing through forests and traditional villages. Thulo Syabru offers a glimpse into local Tamang lifestyle and hillside views.

Day 9 : Trek to Sing Gompa (3,330m)
A steady ascent through rhododendron forests and yak grazing areas leads to Sing Gompa, a peaceful settlement known for its monastery and cheese factory.

Day 10 : Trek to Gosaikunda (4,380m)
The trail climbs above the tree line into rugged alpine terrain. As you approach Gosaikunda, the landscape becomes dramatic, with sacred lakes appearing amidst rocky surroundings.

Day 11 : Cross Lauribina Pass (4,610m) & Trek to Ghopte (3,530m)
An early morning start takes you to Lauribina Pass, the highest point of the trek. The climb is challenging but offers spectacular views. After crossing, descend carefully to Ghopte.

Day 12 : Trek to Kutumsang (2,470m)
Continue descending through forests and traditional villages, gradually returning to lower elevations with warmer temperatures.

Day 13 : Trek to Chisapani & Drive to Kathmandu
A final scenic trek with distant Himalayan views leads to Chisapani. From here, drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
