Around Manaslu-Tsum Valley

Overview Itinerary Map Inclusion Exclusion

Trip Overview

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s finest off-the-beaten-path adventures, offering a perfect blend of raw Himalayan wilderness and preserved mountain culture. Circling the majestic Mt. Manaslu (8,163m), this trek delivers a quieter and more authentic experience compared to the busier trekking regions.

The journey begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, reflecting the latest road developments that have shortened the traditional trekking approach. From here, the trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River through deep gorges, suspension bridges, and terraced hillsides.

As you ascend, the landscape transitions dramatically into alpine terrain, and the cultural influence shifts toward Tibetan traditions. Villages like Namrung, Lho, and Samagaon showcase monasteries, mani walls, and centuries-old lifestyles.

A key highlight of the trek is the acclimatization day in Samagaon, allowing exploration of surrounding viewpoints or hikes toward Manaslu Base Camp. The journey then continues to higher elevations, leading to the challenging yet rewarding crossing of Larkya La Pass (5,160m), offering breathtaking panoramic Himalayan views.

After the pass, the trail descends into the Annapurna region, passing through lush forests and traditional villages before exiting via Dharapani and returning to Kathmandu.
